Volleyball picked second in OAC Preseason Coaches Poll
The Muskingum volleyball team was picked to finish second in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll and also received votes in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Muskingum volleyball team was picked to finish second in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll and also received votes in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Muskies earned a total of 64 points and one first-place finish selection in the OAC Preseason Coaches Poll, positioning them at second overall in the Ohio Athletic Conference and tied with Otterbein. The returning OAC Tournament Champions, Ohio Northern, were chosen to finish first overall with a total of 79 points and seven first-place finish selections.
Muskingum also received a total of 10 points in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll.
Last season, the Muskies finished runner-up in the OAC Tournament for the seventh time in school history and notched a spot in the OAC Tournament Finals for the first time since 2006. The Muskies registered 11 consecutive wins, secured 15 straight-set victories, and had four players that were awarded All-OAC accolades. Muskingum head coach Hallie Cruzen was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2018.
Muskingum opens the season on Friday, August 30, against Earlham at the Mount Union Invitational. The Muskies open home play on Wednesday, September 18, against Bethany. Muskingum begins OAC play on Tuesday, September 24, at Ohio Northern.
