Wrestling Falls to Washington & Jefferson, 23-19

The Muskingum Wrestling team competed in a dual against Washington & Jefferson and dropped the contest, 23-19.

The Basics

• Location: Salvitti Family Gymnasium - Washington, Pa.
• Sophomore Joseph Slatzer, freshman Wyatt Opferbeck, freshman Breyden Hill, senior Anthony Gencarelli and sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. all earned wins in their respective weight classes.

How It Happened

• The Muskies dropped the dual 23-19 against W&J.
• Sophomore Joseph Slatzer won his match in the 133lb weight class by a tech fall, 17-2. 
• Freshman Wyatt Opferbeck wrestled in the 157lb weight class and picked up a win by decision, 6-2.
• Freshman Breyden Hill won his match in the 174lb weight class with a win by decision, 13-5.
• Senior Anthony Gencarelli wrestled in the 197lb weight class and won by decision, 6-5.
• Sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. wrapped up the night in the 285lb weight class with a win by major decision, 15-1.
