Women’s Lacrosse drops physical battle to Saint Vincent

The Muskingum women's lacrosse team dropped a physical battle to Saint Vincent, 19-13 in its Military Heroes Campaign hosted at the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex on Wednesday evening.

• The contest was promoted as a Military Heroes Night sponsored by Muskingum's Kappa Sigma chapter. The Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign is committed to supporting ongoing care for our military veterans and their families.
• The contest was the opener of the lacrosse doubleheader, with the Muskingum's men's game to follow after.

How it Happened

• The Bearcats led 5-2 after the opening quarter of play.
• Although Muskingum drew within three goals of Saint Vincent, the Bearcats tallied 4 unanswered goals to grab an 11-5 lead heading into the break.
• The fourth quarter saw Muskingum outscore Saint Vincent 5-4, but it wouldn't be enough as the Bearcats secured a 19-13 victory.

Inside the Numbers

• Muskingum was led by sophomore Riley Hudock, who scored four goals and added 10 draw controls.
• Sophomore Riley Zwagerman also added four goals and grabbed three draw controls.
• Freshman Maria Decaminada chipped in two goals and two ground balls.
• Sophomore Megan Lang and senior Raiyah Johnson added one goal apiece. Lang also dished out three assists.
• Freshman Kyleigh Dahlgren made nine saves in frame for Muskingum.
• Kaylee Bandow led Saint Vincent with six goals and four draw controls.
• Bailey Nicely played all 60 minutes in the net for the Bearcats and tallied seven saves.
• Muskingum ended the outing with a skim 32-31 advantage in shots, while Saint Vincent held a 21-18 advantage in ground balls.
