Latest USBC National Poll has Women's Bowling in 17th
The Muskingum women's bowling team is ranked 17th in the final United States Bowling Congress (USBC) National Poll. The ranking is the highest final ranking in the programs history.
The Muskingum women's bowling team is ranked 17th in the final United States Bowling Congress (USBC) National Poll. The ranking is the highest final ranking in the programs history.
The Muskies earn the ranking following a 44th place finish at the Hoosier Classic. Sophomore Tayler Clark led the Muskies in the tournament with 907 total pins across her five game series.
Over the course of the season the Muskies have won at the DO Apparel/Brunswick, the Ohio Bowling Conference #1, the Unicorn Classic, and the Ohio Bowling Conference #4. The Muskies have also added a runner-up finish at the Muskie Mash and two fourth place finishes at the Ohio Bowling Conference #2 and the Ohio Bowling Conference #3. Now the Muskies add a 44th place finish at the Hoosier Classic.
The Muskies are also the Ohio Bowling Conference team title winners for this season for their tremendous play in conference tournaments. Multiple Muskies were honored for their play in conference this season. Sophomore Tayler Clark was honored with 1st Team All-OBC, Junior Elizabeth Springsteen was recognized with 2nd Team All-OBC honors, and senior Kelsey Wilson was awarded Honorable Mention All-OBC. Head Coach Doug Smith was also recognized with the Ohio Bowling Conference Women's Bowling Coach of the Year for leading the Muskies this season.
The Muskies will take their outstanding season and look to continue their dominance at the United States Bowling Congress Sectionals at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan. The tournament is scheduled to start on Friday, March 7.
