Taylor Named First Team NFCA All-Region; Rodman and Timko Earn Second Team Honors
Muskingum softball senior Cara Taylor has been named First Team NFCA All-Region VII, while junior Bethany Rodman and sophomore Kasey Timko have earned Second Team NFCA All-Region VII recognition, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Taylor is in the midst of one of the most prolific offensive seasons in Muskingum history. The senior center fielder is hitting .522 through 40 games, ranking among the national leaders, while starting every contest. She leads the Muskies with 72 hits and 54 runs scored, and has collected 24 doubles, five triples and two home runs, while driving in 32 runs. Taylor owns a .585 on-base percentage and an .812 slugging percentage, and has added 20 stolen bases. Defensively, she carries a .985 fielding percentage. Taylor was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Year and earned First Team All-OAC honors.
Rodman is recognized as a Second Team All-Region selection following an outstanding season as both a hitter and pitcher. Offensively, the junior is batting .413 with 38 hits, including seven doubles and five home runs, while driving in 30 runs. She holds a .652 slugging percentage and a .447 on-base percentage, providing consistent production in the middle of the lineup. In the circle, Rodman serves as a key piece of Muskingum's pitching staff. She currently owns a 12–4 record with a 3.09 ERA, appearing in 21 games with 17 starts. Rodman has thrown 111.0 innings, recording 45 strikeouts, 10 complete games, one shutout, and one save. She was also named First Team All-OAC earlier this season.
Timko earns Second Team All-Region honors after starting all 40 games at shortstop and anchoring the Muskingum infield. The sophomore is hitting .360 with 49 hits, including 14 doubles and three triples, and leads the team with 36 RBI. Timko carries a .529 slugging percentage and has been a steady defensive presence, handling 149 total chances on the season. She was also recognized as a First Team All-OAC selection.
Taylor, Rodman and Timko now advance to the NFCA All-American ballot.
