The Muskingum men's lacrosse team fell in road OAC action at Capital on Wednesday night.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (4-5 Overall, 0-2 OAC), Capital (7-2 Overall, 2-0 OAC)
- Location: Bernlohr Stadium – Bexley, Ohio
How it Happened
- Muskingum started the game out hot, holding a 3-1 lead over the Comets after the first inning.
- Despite the early momentum by the Muskies, Capital answered back by outscoring Muskingum 6-2 in the second quarter. The Comets carried a close 7-5 lead into the halftime break.
- In the third quarter, Capital scored two more goals while holding the Muskies scoreless to push their lead to 9-5.
- The fourth quarter saw Capital outscore Muskingum 2-1, with the contest ending in a final score of 11-6.
Inside the Numbers
- Muskingum was led by junior Spencer Zecchini who tallied three goals and two assists on the night. Zecchini also added two ground balls for the Muskies as well.
- Senior Michael Honeycutt registered one goal for Muskingum, while junior Grant Webster notched a one goal and one assist.
- Junior Travis Geyer rounded out the Muskie scoring with one goal, while junior Trevor Connolly finished with 14 saves and eight ground balls in net for Muskingum.
- Sophomore Drew Schneider tallied six ground balls for the Muskies, while senior Maxwell Pezzot picked up five ground balls.
- Capital was led by Mason Spaulding with five goals and two assists.
