The Muskingum Men's Basketball team continues to earn recognition in the D3Hoops.com Top 25, receiving 16 votes this week heading into a big OAC matchup against #12 Mount Union.
The Muskies have started the season 8-0 for the first time since the 1968-69 season. The Muskies are also 2-0 in the conference. The Muskies have taken down Carnegie Mellon (75-74), Transylvania (92-81), Asbury (81-77), La Roche (94-67), Westminster (72-64), Earlham (82-72), Capital (95-78), Baldwin Wallace (80-61).
The Muskies have been averaging 83.9 points per game on 48% shooting from the field and 34.9% from three-point range. Muskingum is currently pulling down 36.9 rebounds a game and dishing out 13.9 assists per game.
Senior Duane Davis is leading the way for the Muskies, averaging 21.4 points and pulling down back-to-back OAC Player of the Week honors to start the season. Junior Owen Emig just received OAC Player of the Week Honors and adds to the scoring, averaging 18.3 points a game.
The Muskies will be back in action next Saturday, December 13, for a big OAC matchup against Mount Union. Mount Union is currently undefeated and ranked #12 in the Nation.
