The Muskingum men's basketball team could not overcome the hot-shooting Kenyon Lords on Sunday in a 91-75 loss in the Recreation Center.
The Muskies were led by sophomore Joshua Keyes who scored a career-high 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Keyes also added nine rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block.
Senior Logan Kimble also added 18 points, while freshman Jacob Geller contributed nine points and five rebounds. Sophomore Teryn Jarrett and junior Christian Keller each scored seven points to help pace the Muskies.
For the game, Muskingum shot .429 (27-of-63) from the floor. The Muskies also held a 38-29 edge in rebounds and 46-22 advantage in points in the paint.
Kenyon (1-3) had six players score in double-digits. Tim Connolly led the Lords with a game-high 26 points with five rebounds and four assists. Brien Comey added 15 points, Cooper Handelsman had 14 and Alexander Powell and Dan Voigt each chipped in 10 points. Handelsman also added 13 assists.
The Lords shot .521 (25-of-48) from the field and connected on 10-of-22 three-point shots. Kenyon also converted 31-of-38 free throws.
Kenyon ended the last 6:14 of the first half with a 20-11 surge to take a 41-31 lead into the break.
In the second half, Kenyon quickly ballooned its lead to 53-33 through the opening four minutes of play to take control of the contest.
Muskingum (1-2) next hosts Bethany on Tuesday, November 25. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
