Seven Muskingum Football Players Named CSC Academic All-District
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its 2025 Academic All-District Football Team, recognizing Seven Muskingum University student-athletes for their exceptional performances both on the field and in the classroom. Honorees include Nathan Thomas, Riley Woodie, Jeremy Smith, David Westrick, Lee Burkett, Logan Crozier, and Cade Searls.
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its 2025 Academic All-District Football Team, recognizing Seven Muskingum University student-athletes for their exceptional performances both on the field and in the classroom. Honorees include Nathan Thomas, Riley Woodie, Jeremy Smith, David Westrick, Lee Burkett, Logan Crozier, and Cade Searls.
Sophomore Nathan Thomas a First Team All-OAC honoree, also a Second Team All-Region 4 Defense. Thomas led the Muskies with five sacks, ranking third in the OAC, and added 50 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. He finished fourth in the league in tackles for loss.
Sophomore Riley Woodie led the Muskies with 173 rushes for 795 yards and 5 touchdowns. Woodie ranked sixth in the OAC for total yards and yards per game, averaging 88.3 yards.
Freshman Jeremy Smith tallied 25 receptions for 310 yards and 1 touchdown on the year.
Senior David Westrick, a Second Team All-OAC honoree, recorded 57 receptions for 617 yards, averaging 61.7 yards per game and scoring five touchdowns. He ranked second in the OAC in receptions, and eighth in receiving touchdowns.
Junior Lee Burkett totaled 59 tackles on the year, which put him third on the team. Burkett also added 1 interception and 3.5 tackles for loss.
Senior Logan Crozier anchored the Muskies' offensive line, helping power an offense that averaged 383.2 total yards per game. Their efforts up front contributed to Muskingum finishing second in the OAC in passing, totaling 2,596 yards through the air.
Junior Cade Searls recorded 35 receptions for 690 yards and 7 touchdowns. Searls led the team in receiving touchdowns and tied for third in the OAC for receiving touchdowns. Searls also had a rushing touchdown on the year.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
