The Muskingum Baseball team defeated Guilford 7-6 on Tuesday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina.

How it Happened
Guilford jumped out to an early lead, scoring a run in each of the first two innings to go up 2-0. Muskingum responded in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, scoring 2 runs in each of those innings. Guilford had another two runs in the seventh inning to bring it to 6-4 in favor of the Muskies. Muskingum tallied their last run in the eighth inning to make the score 7-4 going into the 9th. The Muskies allowed 2 runs in the final inning but held on to secure the victory.
Highlights
- Senior Sam Palmieri and sophomore Brandon Barnette each tallied a home run and 2 RBIs on the afternoon.
- Junior Grant Mellerson and freshman Josh Beavon each tallied 3 hits. Mellerson registered 2 RBIs, while Beavon added 1 RBI.
- Senior Jackson Duchesne, sophomores Jasper Owens, Olly Schrader, and Ethan Bush each tallied a hit for the Muskies.
- Junior Gavin Schultz was on the bump for 4 innings for the Muskies and had 3 strikeouts, allowed 2 hits, and 1 earned run.
- Freshman Carter Williamson pitched for an inning and tallied 2 strikeouts.
