Palmieri, Schultz, and Thamann Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors
Muskingum baseball student-athletes Sam Palmieri, Gavin Schultz, and Conner Thamann have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, honoring their exceptional performance both on the field and in the classroom.
Muskingum baseball student-athletes Sam Palmieri, Gavin Schultz, and Conner Thamann have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, honoring their exceptional performance both on the field and in the classroom.
Palmieri, a junior infielder majoring in history and education, posted an impressive .338 batting average, .500 on-base percentage, and .540 slugging percentage. He led the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) with 16 doubles (tied), ranked third in RBIs with 47, and had the second-highest on-base percentage in the conference.
Schultz, a sophomore pitcher studying business management, led the Muskies with 15 appearances, 54 strikeouts, and three saves. He compiled a 4-2 record with a 3.95 ERA over 43.1 innings pitched.
Thamann, a sophomore infielder majoring in elementary and special education, hit .296 with a .366 on-base percentage. He tied for the team lead with three triples, scored 39 runs, and recorded 32 RBIs, six doubles, and two home runs.
The 2025 Academic All-District Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be nominated for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or significant contributor to their team, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and reach sophomore athletic and academic standing at the school.
