Melick named OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week
Muskingum sophomore Weston Melick was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for his stellar play at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida. Melick’s hot bat helped propel Muskingum to a 6-1 record in Florida, and the team currently sits 8-2 on the season.

While in Florida, Melick boasted a .563 batting average across seven games played, which included a .625 average with runners in scoring position. Melick tallied 26 total bases at the Gene Cusic Classic; while also registering 13 RBIs, 14 runs scored, six doubles, and three stolen bases.
Melick's stellar week was highlighted by a 5-for-6 outing against Bluffton that saw him finish with four RBIs, two doubles, and two runs scored. Muskingum topped the Beavers 12-11 in walk-off fashion, securing the team's sixth straight win.
The Muskies will be back in action on Friday, March 17, when they host Olivet at Mose Morehead Field. First-pitch for the team's home-opener is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
