Men's Track and Field competes at the Slippery Rock Invitational

The Muskingum men's track and field team competed at the Slippery Rock Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Slippery Rock, Pa.

The Basics 

  • Location: Slippery Rock, Pa. - Mihalik-Thompson Stadium
  • The meet was not scored.

In the Field 

  • Junior Jeffrey Burkholder led the Muskies claiming a third-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 15.37 meters.
  • Burkholder also finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 38.50 meters. 
  • In the hammer throw, senior Andre Buffington finished sixth with a pitch of 42.01 meters.
  • Sophomore Jordan Wallace finished 10th in the high jump with a leap of 1.75 meters.
  • Junior Darrell Briggs finished 10th in the long jump with a distance of 6.06 meters.

On the Track

  • Senior Anthony Kall finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:00.09.
  • Briggs finished sixth in the 110-hurdles with a time of 16.73.
  • In the 800-meter run, freshman John Soppanish finished seventh with a time of 2:04.88.
  • Freshman Doug McIntire claimed an eighth place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:45.98.

  • Muskingum returns to action Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9 as they host the Muskie Invitational and All-Ohio Multi Championships. Meet time is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
