The Muskingum men's basketball team lost its final non-conference game at Case Western on Wednesday night, 76-65. The loss snapped Muskingum's two-game winning streak.
Sophomore Joshua Glass led the Muskies with 19 points and six rebounds.
Muskingum (4-8) ended the game shooting .436 (24-of-55) from the field.
Case Western (9-2) was led by Dane McLaughlin who scored 19 points. Eric Black added 11 points.
The Spartans shot .426 (23-of-54) from the floor and used a strong 41-6 bench-scoring advantage to gain the home win.
Through the opening five minutes of play the game was tied at 10-10. Case Western then used a 17-4 surge to take a 27-14 lead with 10:02 on the clock. The Spartans entered the intermission with a 37-28 lead.
In the second half, the Muskies trimmed their deficit to three in the first five minutes of the half. However, Case Western answered the Muskie challenege and slowly increased its lead to double-digits in the final 10 minutes of play to seal the victory.
Muskingum next travels to Ohio Athletic Conference foe John Carroll on Saturday, January 10. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
